About Panmure Golf Club

The original Panmure Gold Club shared the links of Monifieth - nine holes originally laid out by Allan Robertson and Alexander Pirie in 1845 - but congestion on the course forced the Panmure men to move to their present location at Barry close to the championship links of Carnoustie on the Angus coast. Huge sand dunes and rolling links land were there in abundance. The hand of Old Tom Morris from St Andrews was much involved in the first layout but over the years changes were made until James Braid travelled north from Walton Heath to create a much longer and stiffer test. It was here on the Barry links that Ben Hogan practised assiduously before his one and only appearance and victory in the Open Championship at Carnoustie in 1953.

Panmure Course 1/1
Holes: 18
The course combines the best elements of links and heathland, with tight fairways, challenging carries, undulating greens and sandhills forged by nature. The touches of heather add a wonderful texture to the course and the moderately undulating hillocks add visual appeal as well as impart their strategic influence. The famous Old Tom Morris and

Panmure Course
Panmure is a stunning golf course. We played it in the heart of summer with a menacing wind. The first 9 holes played straight into the wind making it a very difficult opening stretch. Heading back in we had the wind in our back but that was no easy task with out of bounds lurking on our right. The course was in fantastic condition playing firm and fast. There are a coupl…

Panmure Course
Classic links course- course starts out and finishes with some flat straight forward holes. As you enter the inner part of the course then the holes become more varied. There are a number of holes that have challenged approach shots. When the wind is up this course becomes a real test. Very nice traditional clubhouse.

Panmure Course
