I played lately a tournament on yellow and green courses. I found a nightmare starting a round on the yellow course, since the first 3 holes are quite intense, and a bit weird, very narrow, very easy to loose balls, almost imposible to play the hole if you miss the fairway, etc. On top of that, first and third holes are par 5 and very strange indeed. First hole has a blind shot to green almost no matter where you place the ball for third shot (totally blind for second shot), and the green is very narrow and well protected. It is basically a question of taking a lip of faith in finding the ball when you get close to the green. Third hole is commonly called Juana la Loca (crazy Juana, after a famous Spanish queen of the late Middle Ages). First shot is into a winding narrow fairway that makes balls slide to the left, where there is a ravine that will make your ball disappear if it is not out of bounds. But to the right there is a hump where almost no ball is to be found and there is also OB. If by chance you hit the fairway, you will find almost the same troubles on the second shot; if going for the green, it is all up hill over a couple of tall trees on the boundary of OB, and if laying up it is also blind, but a bit wider. These three holes are a pitty, because after them, the rest of the course is quite playable, quite similar to the style of the green one: short holes, mostly narrow but playable, fun for short hiters that will find here options to hit shorter irons to green than in most courses, and longer hiters will have to think twice almost every hole, with different ways to play them. And some holes are quite nice indeed in this yellow course after the first 3. For example, the fifth hole, a short fun par 5 quite open, since it is located on the top of a cliff over the town and coast, so there are no houses on that side (this is also a feature of this course: houses all around it). So if you survive those first holes (I did not), the last 6 of yellow course are a good introduction to the green one, with all those characteristics I just stated. The main difference of this green course to those last 6 of the yellow one will be green course seemed to me a little bit wider or less tense. I played driver on every par 4 and 5 (a couple of tee shots a bit tense) and did not find too much trouble. Probably the last 3 holes are the best ones here. 7th has a difficult tee shot over a dogleg, if you do not want to leave you a long iron to a narrow green way up hill, well protected with a tree and bunkers. Trees in the middle of the fairway also bother. 8th is a reacheable par 5 but well protected by a dogleg full of trees around the fairway. 9th is a long par 4 surrounded by tall nice trees, no houses around to make a difference. Training ground is quite handy and complete. Course and training ground were in reasonable shape, greens way too slow. Bunkers were great. Due to covid pandemic could not enjoy club house or other services, but I was here a couple of years ago and I found those facilities quite nice, in particular the terrace. Staff was really kind.
